Motivation: I want to loose weight because…

After many days of exercise, trying to eat right and just taking care of myself, it comes a time when you have to think, why do you want to loose weight. I want to loose weight because I want to look hot in my 40’s and beyond. I spent my 20’s and 30’s thinking I was ugly and fat, even when I was 120 lbs. I wasted so many years caring for what others thought of me. It was a waste, and if I can stop one female from making the same mistake I made, I will be happy.
I don’t have any altruistic reason, or any beautiful mind view of what I want to accomplish. All I want is too look young and beautiful. Is there anything wrong with that?

No, there’s nothing wrong with that. I just turned 40 myself and have 40lbs I’d love to lose, too. Your post could have been written by me. I absolutely hate working out, although if it wasn’t so hot out, I’d go for a walk. I’m totally not motivated. I need some serious intervention.

In that case, stick with me, if I can be of help, I will be more than glad to motivate you. The fact that I know someone out there feels like me, motivates me to do better. Right now, I started working (3 miles a day) after about a month of not walking. It is over 90 degrees in this island. There are no trees where I walk, it is hot. I am lucky enough that I start work at about 11:00 AM which gives me time in the morning. Sometimes, it is nice in bed and all I want to do is go back to sleep. My mind is made up that I will loose about twenty pounds by my b-day (Nov. 21). What is your goal?

Hi. Well, 3 yrs ago I lost 35lbs simply by walking 2 miles a day and eating right. I know what I have to do, I just don’t want to do it. I got screwed up last year when I threw my back out right after thanksgiving, then with all the holiday eating and no exercise (due to my back), I lost momentum and gained. It’s brutally hot here in the north east (90+ degrees for a while), but I plan to start walking again when it cools down. Will keep you posted on my progress and will check your blog daily for inspiration! My goal is to get down from 185 to 150. Most women wouldn’t even be happy at 150, but that’s the perfect weight for me.

I can relate. My ultimate goal is to get back to 130 but right now, I would love it if I was 150. My sister calls me all the time complaining of being heavy (she used to be 110, 5’2″) and now she is 150 and says she is a whale. Well I am 190 and I am only 1 1/2 inches taller than her. So anything under 160 is great for me.
