Inspiration – Mary Kay

The younger generations know only about the direct sales company. Many have no idea that behind the company, there was Mary Kay Ash. Her story is just as interesting.

In an era when women were not taken seriously in the business world, Mary Kay made a name for herself as a sales professional. When she tired of being passed over for men she had trained, she created her own company. When her marriage ended and she had three kids to feed, she did not let her self pity or her circumstances get the best of her. She took all these challenges to fuel her to a better place.

“A lady never tells her true age” was one of those statements that she applied to herself. People estimate she was born in 1916, but no one is really sure. There was an air of mystery for a woman that everyone felt they knew. She is an inspiration for standing strong under pressure.

If you want to know more about her, check it out here and I thank them for the portrait of Ms Ash.

I picked 30 women at random, all with very different challenges. I believe they are all brilliant in their own way. Hope you enjoy the series.

Thanks for the reprint. I do appreciate it. Only one thing….my name is Roxana, not Rita Moreno….she is yet another inspiration on my blog. I can only wish to have half the talent Rita has. Have a great week and keep the inspiration going.
