Inspiration – Marian Wright Edelman

Some people do remarkable things and then top it off by spending their efforts on helping others. This is the case of Marian Wright Edelman.

Marian Wright was the first African American woman accepted in the Mississippi state bar. She was involved in Civil Rights and worked tirelessly to ensure the rights of the poor and the disadvantage. And then, she developed an organization to ensure the rights of those that could not defend themselves. The Children’s Defense Fund was founded on 1973 to watch out for the rights of the little ones.

Inspiration comes in many forms. One of my favorites is the inspiration to do something for someone else, no matter your circumstances. That is the beauty of Marian Wright Edelman’s legacy.
