Reason 5 to Have a Mentor

The value of the lessons can be used in several areas of your life.

It really does not matter why you have a mentor. The value of the lessons and the relationship is more important than your reason for searching for one. Think about that for a second. You have a mentor and he notices that you are quick to quit a project when it gets too hard. Through his mentor-ship you develop some strategies to keep you focused and stay on track to achieve your goals. You use those same strategies at home with the kids or at the gym to stay in shape. The value of the lesson transcends the field where it was given.

Have you learned something lately at work that you can use in your personal life or viceversa? Tell us about it in the Comments below.
